If you add new images or replace any current images, please make sure that the new image you upload meets the following requirements:

• 72 dpi or ppi resolution (screen resolution)
• GIF or JPG file format
• is the same physical size as the current image (assuming it is replacing an image)
• is less than 250kb (maximum size)
• is RGB color mode (CMYK files are not viewable on the web)

Images should be optimized/saved in an image editor ... below are some of our recommended image editing applications. These applications must be secured / purchased separately and we make no guarantees on their availability or performance.

Below is a list of external image editors that can be used to edit your images for the web. If you currently do not have an application installed to edit your photos/images, we recommend the following applications. Remember, all images must be 250 kb or smaller in file size, and should be saved in GIF or JPG at 72 dpi resolution.

Adding Images To Your Site

You can add images through one of two methods - adding an image on an existing or new page, OR, by publishing the image directly to the site.

ADD AN IMAGE ON A PAGE

• Navigate to the page you would like to add your new image to, and click Edit Page.
• When the page is in edit mode, put your cursor where you would like to insert the new image.
• Click the Image button in the tool bar and select From My Computer...
• Navigate to the image you would like to add, and click Choose.
• Enter Alternative / Descriptive text for the image and click OK.
• Your image will display on the page where you placed your cursor.
• Publish your page.

ADD AN IMAGE BY PUBLISHING IT DIRECTLY

• Go to File/Publish File From My Computer...
• Select the file from your desktop. Click the Choose button to choose your file.
• If you are maintaining more than one website in Contribute, select the website where you'd like your file to go. Click OK.
• You will see a popup message that indicates visitors will not find this file without a link to it - click YES to publish this file.
• The Publish window will open; it will default to the /images/ directory. Click the Publish button.
• The page will reload and show your new image.
