QUESTION: I'd like to add multiple documents (Word, PDF, images, etc) to my website - when I try to do this through the File > Publish File From My Computer... menu, I can only upload one document at a time. Is there an easier way to upload multiple documents.
ANSWER:
Contribute will not allow you to publish multiple files from your desktop to your website, using the FILE menu.
The work-around is simple - create a new webpage and add links to those files to the page in the Content area. Publish your page, and it will publish not only the page, but ALL of the files you linked to, currently sitting on your computer.
Steps to Publishing Multiple Documents:
- Create a new page - call it something like mynewlinks.htm
- Add some text on the page, naming each of the documents you are going to link to.
- Select each name for each document, and link to it by clicking the Link > File On My Computer button, or going through the Insert menu.
- Once you've linked to all of your new documents, publish the page. This will publish the page, and all linked documents and move them to the server.
