Contribute Frequently Asked Questions and Answers

There are a few reasons you may not be able to edit a page in Contribute - you may see errors like "You can't edit this page because it wasn't found on the website or it is a directory listing." or "You do not have permission to access this page". Here are a few reasons why this happens:

1. You have navigated off of your website to another *outside* website, and are no longer in an area that is accessible via Contribute. Make sure you are still on your live website.
   
2. You have navigated to a dynamic or database driven page on your website - Contribute only allows you to access static pages. Pages with forms, search capability, database driven results, etc, are not editable in Contribute.
   
   Examples of such pages are:
   

   • Property Search pages.
   • Contact pages.
   • Request Brochure pages,
   • House pages,
   • Search Results pages,
   • Alphabetical Property List pages,
   • Agents pages,
   • Other custom programmed pages
     
     If you need something changed on a dynamic or database driven page, please email support@vdsys.com with your request.
     
3. Your IP address or internet provider has changed, your office location has changed. If any of these situations are the case, please notify us at support@vdsys.com and send your new IP information. You can visit http://www.vdsys.com/book/where.html to find out your computer's IP information.
   
4. If none of the above reasons match your situation, and you believe your page is static, notify support@vdsys.com immediately with your problem, and supply as many details as possible.
