Contribute Frequently Asked Questions and Answers
QUESTION: Can I use Send for Review
to email a temporary version of my draft to a colleague,
even though I do not have Outlook?
ANSWER:
- In Edit Mode, choose “Send For Review”
- Choose the “Send email with a link to a preview
of the draft” option… and then click on “Send.”
You will get a message saying that Contribute will place
a review copy of this draft in a temporary folder on your
website….. etc. – Click OK
- A yellow bar at the top of your draft will say “You
posted a draft for review by email……. Click
here to view the version you posted." Go ahead and
click on that, and a separate web browser will open with
the sample page.
- The URL of this sample page now appears in the Web
Address bar. Use the “Control C” keyboard
shortcut to copy this URL.
- Send this link to your colleague by pasting it (Control
V) into the email, using whatever email client you like,
such as AOL.
- Go back to Contribute and click on “Save For
Later” to keep this temporary draft active.
- When your colleague has finished reviewing the temporary
page, click on the draft in the "Pages" list
(below the File menu in Contribute). Your page will now
be in Edit Mode. Make any necessary changes, and then
publish your page. Or cancel out of it if you have changed
your mind.
- Once you cancel out of the draft, the link you sent
your colleague also becomes invalid, so you must keep
the draft “Saved For Later” until they are
done looking at it. That is: you shouldn't cancel or publish
the draft until they are done.
